Hi - I was looking for a reliable dvd burner to back-up my xbox games, and I came across the Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD burner.

I read this thread and have one quick question, considering I use a desktop, do I have to connect the dvd drive externally to my desktop or can I connect it directly with the internal SATA data cable and power wire?

Also, do I need all of the following, regardless of using a desktop or laptop, or can I skip a few items? Finally, can you also list an average price for the parts that I need?
    -Molex Power Supply
    -Molex - Sata
    -X360USB
    -Laptop
-Lite-On iHAS 124-04B With Burner Max Firmware.

As you can see, I am a newbie, but I am trying to get on track with the process.

Thanks and if someone can reply, I would greatly appreciate it.

jrccomputer - thanks for the reply.

Yes, I have SATA data ports in my PC. Considering I have these ports, can you tell me which of the following I will need? I assume I will only need the last one (Burner Max Firmware). If so, can you tell me where I can get the firmware from?

    -Molex Power Supply
    -Molex - Sata
    -X360USB
    -Laptop
-Lite-On iHAS 124-04B With Burner Max Firmware.

Finally, do I need any other program to make my copies, or just the DVD drive and the Burner Max Firmware?

    Thanks again.

^only if the usb port on the comp does not have enough power to power the pro, but that is rare.
