Cheers ttan
Its a very strange one considering it was not touched or taken apart and was working for 4 months. I googled and one forum was talking about a clip, but checked that out also works fine on connectivity kit.i think i messed up my original pcb taking glue of mxic chip so cant try that unless the pcb needs to be connected back to the drive before jf can recognise it.
Thanks again any help is mint.

Well I was going to suggest trying your original PCB back in the drive, but since you figure you have messed it up, it's sort of hard to do that now. I would be willing to be it's a problem with the replacement PCB. There seem to be random issues like this popping up here and there with these boards. Nothing that the end user can do other than test with a good board to see if the problem persists. I would put the original board in and see what happens if I were you.

I will not give you "workaround" solutions. Do it right, or don't do it at all!

put the slim back together and noticed on the matrix pcb there was a small white connection beside j2 and the power.i plugged it in tight as it felt quite loose . turned on and everything and is now working again.
thanks for all the help.
