    My 360 is making a buzzing/hissing noise when i turn it on?

    This thread is regarding my 360 it is making a buzzing hissing sound when i turn on my console. Also in some games it seems to get louder in others not so much.

    What can i do about this?

    What could the problem be?

    Where is the "buzzing hissing" coming from exactly? Drive, Motherboard??

    Sounds like it could be coming from the fans at the back, also the back seems warm yet i have hardly used it...

    Best thing to do is to open it up and see if you can find exactly were the sound is coming from. Because it could be just a dirt fan or something like that, then again it could be like maelstrom says, and that is a bit harder to fix

    Not coming from the DVD drive that's for sure.

    Whats a fast way to clean it now that i've opened it up?

    Whoa! i just touched my power brick then it started making a loud freaking noise i've never heard before lol... the power brick itself so i turned the console off...

    fans are easy to clean with a small paint brush
    power brick making loud noise?
    are you sure it`s the right one for your xbox?
    it`s not been cut to fit has it?

    I actually had that problem with my last 360 the power cable couldnt fit into the power brick properly...

    This one fits better but my feeling is that xbox suck at making power bricks and the cables that attach from the power outlet to the power brick they never seem to fit properly (securely) into the power brick itself crappy design if you ask me...

    I don't think it has been made cut to fit since i've purchased the whole thing retail not separately or anything.

    LOL it's actually the power brick which is making a buzzing/vibrating noise now...
