drive wouldn't open swaped drives and still wont open?

Its making a noise but it wont eject... i thought it might be the eject button but even if i push open on the dash it doesnt work.

any ideas??

Have you tried to flash your drive lately, if so it sounds like something went wrong, maybe theres no firmware on your drive.

i bought a box thats tray wouldnt open for 20 bucks and swaped the drive with a samsung drive from a rrod box i had. it powers up and plays demos fine but the drive still wont open.... i thought it might have been the eject button but it wont eject from the dash eather. and when i got it it wasnt flashed so i dont think its a fw thing... im stumped.

Did you flash the new drive to at least factory firmware to match the xbox factory dvd key? If not then you need to do that. Also since the drive is not opening, it has to do with the eject button either has bad power or bad ground. Im not sure if you know how to check, but get a volt meter and check to see if there is any voltage running to the xbox eject button. If there is not, your gonna have to check the traces running to the eject button, i hope this helped
