DMI unverified

I know this has been asked a million times and believe me, I've googled but I can't find a definitive answer.

I've heard two different things.

1) Set abgx to autofix level 3 (which alters the original dump)

and

2) DMI can vary from region to region and possibly even area to area within regions based on who manufactured the disc

I've burned 3 games so far. One passed DMI and the other two did not. All three passed all other checks.

My way of thinking is that by changing the original DMI you're opening yourself up to be banned and should probably remain untouched if you know you dumped it right (or if you're a bad, awful person who pirates things at least make sure you got a proper scene release). Am I just plain wrong on how DMI works or does that sound about right?
