My research indicates it's not wave 4 and most peolple banned used abgx . I think more than likely it's the e74 (or whatevea it'z called) flag that 360's log when u power up minus the SATA plug to the drive. I'm basing this on info gathered from several forums some ppl had just flashed their consoles w/ 1.6 and only played orig. If this is the case I thinks it's the only think M$ have left to throw at modders.

Hope some1 proves me wrong but like I said based on what I've read this is my best guess They are also apprently picking ppl at random (to slow down patching the prob methinks) speaking of which has ne1 been banned using 1.61? I used it on a benq and had no probs booting a wave4 disc that wouldn't boot on my 1.6 liteon allthough it's not hooked up to live. I would also gues M$ are about to starting droping random bans outside U.S the very second they have their laywers check the legalities (It would definately be challenged in some countries as they are effectively damaging ppls HW and breaking a contract of sale, backups are also VERY legal in some countries and the right to do so has been established in courts of law... absolute minefield i'm sure)

I guess untill it's ascertained for sure what M$ are logging for a ban the only way to be sure is use your originals (which sux if you have young kids like mine) and re-flash with original FW (assuming you didn't power from the console to flash)

I just updated my Samy 1.6 to 1.61, powered it with console, no ban here, Im in Canada.

Exactly, Ouside of the USA. I just use xtractor for powering my drive.

So the impression I'm getting from the last few posts is that M$ will only ban people from inside the U.S.??

No, some from the U.K. have been banned.
