New Xbox LIVE Update as of 23, September, 2009 safe?

I am pretty sure it's safe, because this update is for "preparation for additional system enhancements (Facebook/Twitter/Last.FM) that will arrive later this year". I just wanna make sure. Do you guys know anything?

yes its safe iv updated about 45 mins ago still can play backups no problem

I actually think Microsoft is up to something.
If you would be microsoft and would like to get caught as many ppl as possible, would you ban them straight away after detecting their console have been modified? No
You would gather a list as big as possible and when ban all of them or most of them.
I thinks that's what MS is doing right now.. there might be that they found a way to see who is using modified console to play online.. They release a forced update, otherwise they can't go online to play their beloved just released Halo game or any other.. MS is silent, no bans after update, otherwise there will be thousands of ppl screaming around the inet that this update is not safe, be careful..etc.. But then November comes, a usual ban wave time.. Bans start, people will start putting logs of information which games they were playing when they got banned, which releases might be not safe etc. etc.
MS will succeed by scaring and confusing xbox360 flashers community and thousands of questions will be raised who caused the ban. No one will ever thing that this might be caused by such dashboard update, coz "hey, after update i was able to play backups and didn't get ban!".. sort of..
Maybe I'm too suspicious or crazy, I'm just new to this community. Just my few thoughts how I would act if I would be MS at this point

aidas no offence but i dont think thats what M$ has in mind if they made a list that big...yes there are a lot of us....then XBL would b down 4 a while cause of all the ban codes they would have 2 send.....

M$ would have to send so many ban codes that the servers would become slow, ppl would bitch about live. too many problems so they just send ban waves everyfew months. sometimes they dont even do the ban waves, sometimes they ban you on spot. my friend last month got banned on the spot and we were both on live at the same time, but i beleive he had ixtreme 1.4(he didnt know that at the time). He did a new xbox and has i1.6, point is they are not building some huge list

Just think, all those people who get banned from XBL and all that money that M$ would be losing out on ... None-starter me thinks! If you get banned are you going to buy another console? Another console being a PS3 or Wii then maybe!

Man, only if the PS3 was able to be modded like the 360.
