switching HDD between modded and unmodded xbox

I have a modded and unmodded xbox(and i share the same HDD) if i updated with the new dashboard on my legit xbox and i move the HDD onto the modded one to play burned games offline. Can anything happen when i switch my HDD back to my umodded xbox? Like is it possible that my legit xbox can be banned or flagged? Also im not sure and i havnt tried yet is the new update stored within the HDD? and once i move the HDD to modded xbox i wont have to reupdate?

I have the same setup, one hdd, 2 xbox's. I was told this shouldn't be a problem as far as getting flagged or banned goes. I don't believe the dashboard is saved to the hdd. My online (unmodded) xbox has the newest update, my offline (modded) xbox has the last dashboard on it and I switch my hdd between the two. The only thing I have noticed is my avatars don't show up anymore on the modded xbox with the older dashboard. Other than that I haven't noticed any problems.

There's no risk in doing this as long as you are not playing your backups before the release date.

what about homebrew between a JTAG and non-JTAGed?

obviously I know the homebrew would work, but would the saved games and such still load and not upset microsoft
