I usually order mine from amazon. Is there any way to tell the difference before ordering? Or do you recommend a website?

    mmk-001 or mmk-003

It should tell you in description whether they're made in Singapore. 8x write speed is 003 and 2.4x is 001

I would get them from amazon or newegg. Sometimes newegg will have a deal on them. I have ordered from both and they have always been from Singapore. Try to get the AZO type. I think the MKM-003 are best but I have still had a few burns fail when I use either type. I am currently using newegg MKM-003s and haven't had a bad burn for a long time. From what I have seen, if you get MKM-003s, 8x, you can be pretty sure they are from Singapore. A lot may have to do with your settings too. It may depend on your setup.

I think the last ones I got were from newegg, Model#: 97000.

    I have also used amazon, Model#: 96542.

I haven't tried them but if you want the MKM-001s you could try amazon Model#: 96577.

I haven't tried printables so I don't know about them.

My sweet spot settings for MKM-001s and MKM-003s are as follows:

    EEPROM Options:

    Smart Burn checked
    Force Hyper Tuning checked
    Over Speed Writing checked
    Online Hyper Tuning checked
Clear OPC History before every burn. (Haven't been doing this lately and I seem to get as good

    or better results.)

    IMGBURN Settings:

    Tools > Settings > Write
    Perform OPC Before Write checked
    Enable BURN-Proof unchecked
Layer Break (For DL Media) Calculate Optimal
    Tools > Settings > Verify
    Process Priority: Realtime
    Tools > Settings > I/O > Page 2
Buffer Size 200 MB or as high as your system can handle
Always select verify on the main Write image file to disc page under Destination.

Make sure your computer is defraged.
    Burn in safe-mode.
    Burn at 4x.

    KProbe2
    Remove the spike checked
    set Speed to 4x
    Run in safe-mode.
Verify that data is within these specs:
PI MAX should be 100 or less & PI Average should be 5 or less
PIF MAX should be 4 or less & PIF Average should be 0.20 or less
