Get the drive key from the sammy.
Inject it into the hitachi drive (do not spoof the drive as a sammy)
make sure you use hitachi firmware.
I was recently informed by casca that is is possible to replace my sammy drive with a hitachi and i was wondering if someone could give me instructions on how to do it
and casca if u read this im sorry i am new to this thats why im unsure
I can understand you dont want to be mislead. I wouldn't do that.
Is the 3rd time the charm?
Go to the link in my signature about spoofing. It'll tell you everything you need to know about it.
As far as using a different drive - I've been using a LiteOn as a replacement for a BenQ in my online console unspoofed (only transferred the DVD key) for 6 months now. A few weeks weeks ago, I dumped the Nand and there were no additional flags since when I installed it. The reason I say additional is because a Nand dump always has at least one flag, even if it only indicates when it was last updated, which is the only one my online console has ever had. (There are flags for many different things. Not all of them are bad.)
I'm only smart cause I did it every wrong way already.

If you followed a half-assed way to back up your XGD3 game disc, you deserve all the trouble you're getting.

open jungle flasher, read f/w on sammy, go to firmware tool tab (1st tab in jungleflasher) at the right side click save dvd key, open hitachi fw and on the firmware tool on the bottom right click manual spoofing and load key.bin, then write fw to hitachi and voila
