have you just flashed it once? if so try a reflash matey
I put on the stock firmware and then used iXtreme Burner Max Firmware and it all completed fine, but ImgBurn still wont pick up blank media in the drive.
The Verbatims are white printables 8x that are Made In Singapore.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Drive is picked up fine in Windows 7 Computer, and Device Manager, and in ImgBurn itself.
Just not picking up media.
Status message is: Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present)
Any troubleshooting can be done if you advise, please
The EEPROM utility reports: D:ATAPI iHAS124 B ALOS 2011/08/11 10.09
Any more information needed, let me know.
Ok to add to this, i have just put into the drive a 16x Verbatim DVD-R and ImgBurn comes up with the disc info, then it disappears, comes up with it, then a few seconds later disappears. If this gives any clues to the problem i am having?

you can try flashing back to stock and see how the drive performs as well, to check if it was indeed a bad flash.
I've also read that the printable verbatims are not actually verbatims at all and may not give good kprobe results.
Check if the printable verbatim shows up as mkm or not.
Thanks to you both guys. I did try a reflash and no joy. Can you advise how to check if they show up as mkm? Please?
Sorry to be a dumb noob.
Ill try just flashing back to stock and see what happens. I think i did and checked after i did it, and it made no difference, thats when i then put on the iXtreme max firmware.
I have tried to use Kprobe after reflashing the firmware back to stock, which didn't work by the way and its still the same. Kprobe i try to run a test and nothing happens. I went to Info menu, then Disc, and hit Query disc and nothing came up
I have put in a Verbatim silver non printable 16x disc and it comes up with info in Kprobe with Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and lots of other details about the disc. So it just doesn't like the Made In Singapore, brand new spindle of 25 8x Verbatim DVD+ DL's i bought?Damn Damn Damn, any ideas guys?
