    Xbox 360 Slim DVD Drive Key

    I have a slim with a faulty drive that needs replacing and I would like to no whether the drive will require soldering in order to dump the drive key?. I no that in order to flash the drive it requires soldering.

    nope you can get the key without unlocking the SPI matey

    So it wud just b a matter of probing is it the same method as the lite on phat drives

    no probing, just connect the drive and hit slimkey. simples (as long as you have compatible sata)

    how would you lock the drive again after flashing as you have to unlock before flashing?

    CTRL+ SHIFT+ F11 in jf sends the lock command or just click the spi status button.
