I keep hearing about these via cards?

Are these cards for people who do not have SATA connectivity already on the mobo? Cause every time I come across a flashing tutorial or thread. It speaks of having to get one of these. I successfully flashed a few times from stock to new fw and back a few times just buy using my on board SATA connections. (Prior to getting this laptop, now I'm gonna have to buy the USBPRo)

Clarification and explanation would be great! Thanks!

No They Are Just Sata Cards That Are Supported By Jungle Flasher The Program used To Flash Xbox drives.

If you Have A Laptop You Will Need Maximus Lizard To Flash.

Yeah, there's SATA chipsets that don't have issues with 360 drives. It sounds like your desktop's motherboard's SATA controller's chipset didn't have issues with the 360 drives, which allowed you to flash them. I'm not sure why certain chipsets have problems and certain ones don't...in theory none should, as SATA is a standard interface AFAIK..but some do. Those problematic chipsets won't recognize a 360 drive. The chipsets on the VIA PCI cards don't have problems, and they happen to be cheap as dirt.

Well, Some Desktop Sata Cards Work And Some Don't. The Ones That Don't Need The VIA Card And The Ones That Work Without It Don't

If you still Own That Desktop Then I'd Give It A Try. If You Don't And Only Have A Laptop You Will Need The Maximus Lizard.

I don't have that particular desktop anymore, but my wife has a dell roughly the same as mine. Hoping it will work the same. Not sure why I care, seeing how we have already discussed how cheap these cards are

Well, Just Try It. If It Don't Work Buy A Maximus Lizard It Will Work On Both Slims And Phat Xbox's And It Work On A Laptop, Desktop Or By It Self.
