Works perfect for me with MKM-001 (Verbatim 2.4x).

one more quick question.Must it be verbatimg discs for games such as forza 4 or are they just more recommended?

Folks have been having success with other discs. Check out some of the other threads to find which ones. BTW I have the same burner, but I've only used verbs mkm-001 @ 2.4X and mkm-003 @ 2.4X (no OPC). Both worked perfectly.

and to burn the games, i just fit it in as a normal dvd drive? i dont need anything extra to connect it?

I have the same model, and yes it fits in your average 5.25" media bay...if you don't have an empty one, you can get a sata to usb adapter and enclosure or just relpace your old drive..this one is probably better anyway, and you need one empty sata slot, one sata cable and a sata power off your power supply or just buy a sata to molex adapter, failing a free sata power port, as I had too.

That should be fine, its the right model and assuming its a new stock it should be the right FW revison too.

to flash it do i need any special equipment? in the tutorial they say "Firstly - connect your drive (normal onboard SATA should be more than adequate)". so i just plug it it in as a normal drive and flash it? no need for anything extra like the ck3 stuff etc?
