Exclamation Tried burning my first XGD3 backup... I/O error with IMGBURN? Drive disappears...

    Hey guys,

I just finished burning my backup of Drive: San Francisco on a Verb 2.4x but when it went to verify, I received an I/O error. I have an iHAS124B and updated the firmware. The interpretation of the error said "Logical Unit Communication Parity Error". Does anyone have any idea why and if it's safe for me to play this backup? I selected continue and it asked me if I wanted to automatically ignore read errors. I clicked yes, and it continued to verify the sectors.

EDIT: I found out that the burner keeps disappearing from the computer.

I had to delete many of the retry errors, but you get the idea. If anyone else has had this experience I would like to know.

    Thanks!

Try loading it to your box's HDD. If it does, you should be ok. Seems like some of the settings in IMGBurn may be complicating the verification process for some users. Other threads are addressing these issues.

It gets to about 40% and says the disc may be scratched or dirty. I'm guessing it's a bad burn...? Will I still be safe to play the backup offline if I need to? I'm guessing online is out of the question. This is so weird. I did everything exactly the way it said to in the tut...

i doubt it will be a bad burn, all my xgd3s have backed up perfect, except rage disk 1, same thing fails to verify and same error when installing to hdd. tried 3 burns. its the only disk that fails me lol.

Make sure NO other apps or processes are slowing down your CPU. This was my problem. Mine kept failing at about 50% of the verify. and I shut down all other programs and made sure my computer won't go into sleep mode and Perfert burning 100% verify.

I've read that disabling burn proof (settings/write/enable burn-proof) fixed this issue for some people too. Try that along with other suggestions on your next attempt.
