Unhappy The Golden Exception? (not beeing banned)

The more money microsoft is getting from your console, the less chance you have of being banned, or at least that is what I am trying to point out here.

Just wanted to point out something that I was thinking of. As we all know, once you flash your 360, you always have the chance of being banned but somethings can make the possibility of being banned much greater.

For example, playing modern warfare 2 on a burned disk is supposed to be like signing your xbox away, at least before launch. I stumbled across a copy in a mom in pop shop nov 1 and have been using a back up copy of the game since then (like i do with all my games to protect the original). You might think I am crazy since I have the original and I am not using it, but I have an extra 360 motherboard, so I am not to worried about it.

I started off playing single player for a few hours, and then I made the decision to jump online. I have been addicted to the game and playing it non stop both multiplayer and single player since then. to this minute, still no ban. I did the same thing with borderlands, played a rip copy of my game before it even came out without stealth, and still no problem.

Now up until this point I thought it was coincidence, but I started thinking. This 360 is the only one in the house and 3 different people use it. We all have our own gold live accounts that we pay for monthly. That adds up to be $288 for live a year. I am thinking that microsoft could possibly be overlooking consoles with multiple live accounts because of the amount of money that would lose if they banned the console.

There is obviously no way we will every be able to tell if this is true or not, because if it is, microsoft would want to keep it very secret, especially from game developers. I can really see a company like microsoft doing this. Telling everyone that everyone that does it will get banned to get everyone scared, and then just ban the consoles they make little or no money from.

Just a thought. I would like to test out this theory though. Anyone that has been banned for flashing, how many gold accounts did you have on your 360, and wait payment plan were you on (monthly, yearly, etc). And if you have had your flashed 360 for a while and haven't been banned, the same info would be helpful.

to the mod that banned my last account...
please let me know what i did wrong. I assumed it was because of the talk of mw2 backups, but as you see now, I rightfully owned it, so if that wasn't it, I am not sure what it was for.

Re: The Golden Exception? (not beeing banned)

Speaking of MW2 backups is assumed to be piracy, even if claimed to be otherwise. It's just a probability thing, plus playing online before release may contradict the end user license agreement of the game.

I have noticed that recently flashed 360s tend to be more likely to evade bans. Maybe MS caught out a lot of people in a previous sweep but have allowed them to continue for marketing purposes.

Get them hooked on live, then ban. For more fees of course

Well, I dont know the mod that banned you, But I think they should of gave you a warning message of what you did wrong, so you get banned over for the same thing. I have gotten banned, My system was modded for 3months. I had the system since December 2008. I brought about 2 1 month, 2 3month. I wasted about 70dollars or gamers point. Only one live gold on my xbox which is mine.

all these live accounts have been in use for years, and the 360 has been flashed for about 2 months now. 1.6 on lite-on.

Kaizen, I didn't know we had to instant ban them, I taught we edit their post, and tell them, you'll get banned next time. But thanks for letting me know.

I have an xbox 360, 3 gold accounts, however 2 had been recovered on other consoles BEFORE the ban and i had 1 silver.
