While flashing a Benq Vad6038 with win 7 64bit. With a via card from ebay. Started Jungle Flasher found the drive. Clicked on Benq Unlock. worked. Clicked Read. worked. saved dummy file and others. Then clicked write an it just locked up??? Now has E64.
Would the tray open screw this up. I messed up I think. Kept the drive open half way turned off then turned back on an held half way again. I might be wrong again but was i suppose to pull any of the connectors off?
And what methods are there for recovery to still try to put on ixtreme?
Thank you

Re: E64 on Benq write crash?
Hi,
E64 / 1000
Description:
This error occurs if something goes wrong while flashing the drive or installing a modchip.A sign for it is that the dvd-drive doesnt eject the tray anymore.
DVD drive timed out during reset.
It can also be caused by a faulty DVD power or SATA cables
Known fixes:
1) Check the DVD power and SATA cable for damages and replace them if necessary.
2) If you have soldered a modchip to the drive recently make sure it is sinstalled properly otherwise the flash chip isnt powered.
3) The flash chip must be desoldered and reflashed with an external programmer, recover the dvd-key if you can (unless you have a backup)...

Thanks Slick. But that isn't the answer. Did searching for the similar problem on Google and other boards. Dosflash seems to be the only likely way to fix a bad flashed that has E64 on a Benq. Has anyone fixed this problem before with Dosflash? Thank you

I have done that before. Just use dosflash 32 and power cycle the drive when prompted to for your sata port. Then you should be able to write to it again.
