Best way to flash 93450c drive?

Postby shep211 » Fri Mar 05, 2010 6:35 pm

Got banned on 1.6 and just got a new xbox. I have a 93450c drive in the new xbox and a benq in the old one. Can I flash 1.7 on the benq and use it in the new xbox? If not can someone please link the best guide to flashing a 93450c drive?

Thanx for the help

If I'm correct, I think I remember teamjungle not advising to do so. With LT, you shouldn't be spoofing your liteon as a benq.

Is it you just don't want to have to do the trace cuts, etc, on your liteon?

I have no experience with trace trace cuts but I am sure I can do it. I just flashed my benq with 1.7 and learned you cant just swap out the drives lol. So no matter what I need the key or need to flash the lite-on. Can you please suggest the best way to get the key or flash the lite-on 93450c? I have read way to many forums and I am unsure what the best method is.

Thank you for the help

Okay, so you can swap a liteon with benq running lite touch firmware? Interesting, that's good to know.

We'll, best way to get the key, is to take your drive out, and make the necessary cuts on the pcb.

Where are you from?

Yeah, that looks like it would work ;)

If you can't get it, you can always ship me just the drive, and I can put lt lite touch on it for you, either way.

Let me know how it goes.

I have it almost done but I didn't know I needed 20 ohm resistors with 1/4 watt. I got 2 10 ohn with 1 watts. Is the 1 watts going to crew it up?

Edit: Radio shack didn't have 20 ohm resistor with 1/4 watt. I got two 10 ohm with 1/4 watt.

JungleFlasher 0.1.72 Beta (101)

Session Started Sun Mar 07 09:29:17 2010

This is a 32 bit process running on 4 x 32 bit CPUs

portio32.sys Driver Installed

portio32.sys Driver Started, thanks Schtrom !

Found 8 I/O Ports.

Found 1 Com Ports.

Found 2 windows drives C: D:

Found 0 CD/DVD drives

Sending Vendor Intro to port 0xE800

Status 0x51

I have mine all setup but get mtk vendor intro failed. Device properties show up in dosflash32 but no flash chip properties. Only thing I have different from the guide is that I am using the xbox to power the dvd rom. I have checked my solders and cuts. They all look good. I have tried the eject, pull power & pull tray half way out but get the same thing. I am using the xbox to power the dvd drive. Thanx for the help.

I had the same problem, after checking everything 5 times I took a multimeter and probed the voltage on the pulled down pin.
Most forum threads said it requires about 1,7V to work - for me I could only get this voltage using an 18 Ohm 1/2W resistor.
I also stopped using Windows to flash the Liteon - ended up using an USB dos bootdisk and got it working in DOS (I don't trust the Windows if you have to power on and off the drive will the PC is running *G*).

If I am right your drive should already be in vendor mode when you start this program because of the circuit modification - at least for my drive this was the case.

Good luck! ;)
