I'm using LPT connections, people have been saying j-runner doesn't work with lpt. Also Im going to be using a 2001 laptop running xp will these programs run on it?
Only thing with Jtag Tool is it doesn't have the latest software integrated for building Xell and FreeBOOT images. Either use J-Runner or the latest version of RGH Multi Builder for those.
I'm only smart cause I did it every wrong way already.
Reset Glitch Hack (RGH) Guide
Why not to spoof drives
Pro Jtag/RGH/R-JTAG installs; SLIM DVD key retrieval/LTU flashing; Drive flashing
If you followed a half-assed way to back up your XGD3 game disc, you deserve all the trouble you're getting.

@Charincol sorry read it in a hurry makes more sense now
I tried to read the nand with jtag 4.25 and Im getting: "error: 0 reading block 0" ect
I assumed it was an error in my wiring but i went back and checked all connection everything went as it should, I got some feed back from some pins that the wire i was testing was not directly connected to, but i figured that was due to the fact that it was a circuit board and they had some sort of alternative connection.
Is there anythig else i need to install on my comp after i install jtag tool?
EDIT: It took me around 5 hours of messing with it and research to figure the problem out
I was getting "file config: 00012000" or something like that. After a bit of research I found that I needed to attach a diode to the wire connected to pin 11 on the lpt connector. I put the diode directly on the MOBO with the black line towards the MOBO.
I'm currently dumping the NAND. Looks like I'm pulling an all nighter. Hopefully this helps someone with the same problem.
Thanks for the help so far. Ill keep you guys informed.
