Using the original Xbox to power the slims drive while flashing?

Can the original Xbox (Xbox 1) be used to power the 360 Slim's drive while flashing? I dont have an RRoD Xbox 360 or CK3 to power the drive, but I have the old Xbox, so if its possible, I'll use it.

You can use it without risk. but just in case remove the hdd. so I did with my slim, and everything is ok. my x value is a clean, 0 flags

Yea I had to use the Slim xbox 360 to power a 9504 once, and it flashed fine and all went well

1. It is safe to flash your drive without being connected to the Xbox 360 (I've never heard about a Xbox 360 getting banned for this).
2. Removing your HDD wouldn't prevent you from getting flagged. The flag data is written to the NAND flash inside your Xbox 360 and not your HDD. Your HDD is just for putting (save)games and DLC on it.

I have flashed my drive by powering with my Slim, but I wanted to be sure that I dont get banned when the LT+ 1.9/2.0 is released.

Slick just told me to use CK3. :P

Even so, the 360 logs an error message when it's powered up with no SATA connected. M$ could ban you for this if they wanted to, which is why the CK3 is a preferred option.

Thats right you should have used the CK3 to power your drive, these people saying different are wrong, You can be banned for this
