I don't get why you would take a fully working winbond chip from a perfectly good board.... and try and transplant that to another board, whereby you will then have to unlock it (drill it) - possibly killing it again... it seems like a lot of effort for no real gain - why not just attempt the kamikaze hack on the working board and write your dummy.bin to that?

I forgot to mention that I'm gonna use a separate winbond chip instead of one from a perfectly working pcb. When my chip gets here I'll install it and see if it works or not. If that doesn't work I'll just get a replacement pcb. Thanks for the advice everyone.

That makes far more sense. It should work providing you can solder the pins legs accurately, just flux the shit out of it I guess.
