PS: It is not recommended to use the xbox to power off/on the drive. Use a ck3 (lite/pro/i)!

Probably you turning of the entire Xbox or do you just unplug/plug the power cord from the drive?

yes, i have a compatible chipset. i use VIA 3249 sata card. in JF i can read my drive is lite on 0272.

yes, when it prompt me to switch on/off my xbox within 1 sec. i hit yes and quickly switch off and on again my xbox by press the xbox on/off button not to unplug the power cord.

Uplug the power cord from the back of the drive and quickly replug it. That is the power cycle you want to do, not the whole xbox.
