Thread: Cutting Winbond chip Pins, Kamikaze Alternative?

After looking at the kamikaze mod, it's clear to me that two wires (one connecting to each pin) needs to be cut by drilling into the chip etc..

So it occurred to me, instead of drilling through the chip, why can't you just lift the two pins of the chip or cut them?

Wouldn't that do essentially the same thing?
