Thread: New JF wont detect my drive

Are you running program as admin. what system are you using.

I am on windows xp with netframe work 2.0 and yes i am running it as an admin. I am not using a VIA chipset though just a SIS onboard chipset but it has worked before, should i go ahead and buy a via or is it something else?

Make sure you use the exact same sata port as last time. That was my problem.

Could try an old JF version to see if it detects it then, if you have flashed it before with an older fw.
Its hard to tell what the issue here is, it could be a damaged sata cable or the sata port itself.
Have you tried the other ports, when flashing i use the first sata port, be it onboard or my via.
I use a via card, it just makes my life easier (: never ran into any issues, for £5 online i can't grumble.

thats the problem its not even showing Sata ports, just Ides its really wierd

I believe in that situation, a via card may help.
However its odd to not display the sata ports that are already there.

You don't have the via ports only option checked do you? xD

no the via port only option isnt checked, I guess il try another sata cord and hope that helps. If not I will just purchase a new sata card.
