since I don't play online, my main concern is the mandatory updates that newer games will bundle onto the gamedisc. this is not like wii games where we can simply remove the updates and keep playing, if the dashboard updates is installed through games, offline players can't even play new games any more.

so what will happen next? hacked dashboard updates?

If you was to get banned your console cant connect to live no more which you dont do anyway, you can still play backups

what I assume is that they will brick the console with the dashboard update which may become bundled on the game discs of the newer games.

I mean sure M$ could do it just to piss off players.

They could do that, but I doubt they will. Now they will probably ban you if you sign in to LIVE when the ban wave comes through.
