Thread: Hitatchi stuck in ModeB

from what your saying it sounds dead! take the top cover of the drive off, plug it back into the 360 or power it by whatever means you do and check to see if it still wakes up!

I don't even think its waking up. I don't know whats wrong with it lol. Jungle flasher is recognizing it

The only thing i would try then is to swap the logic board on to another Hitachi, but i have a few spare to try it with.

Or try plugging it back in to JF seeing as JF is picking it up and hit send mode B again only this time just press ok without power cycling the drive! It does work on some i've done, If it works try using the eject switch in JF. If it still fails then all i can suggest is you send it to me or another member who has a few Hitachi drives doing nowt. I must have about 15, mostly 47's, 58, 78 & 79's and i can swap the logic board onto a good drive, I'll get your key & Flash it to just to be sure all is good with it..

Well I tried sending ModeB again but this time it works but I still cant unlock it becuase the disc drive tray wont open.
I don't have any spare boards lol. I have some liteon drives, couldn't spoof it though :/

Yeah you can do that but you still need the Hitachi dump to get the Key to use a lite-on. If you are in the uk you could send me the board, i can then fit it to a working Hitachi unit and get it to dump that way?!

Dam, see if you can get a 47 cheap, they where used a lot in 2006! and put the 79 board on it.. It is the same mechanically and has the same connection points.
