    If your laser is weak then you need to either tweak it or buy a new 1, buying verbs will make it last a bit longer but it WILL die eventually

    What so i can i just buy a new dvd drive for the xbox? even if my one is a liteon can i buy like a samsung xbox 360 and just plug it in and it will work?

    So i brought a new pre flashed lite on lt3.0 today

    Samsung no, but same liteon with original console key u saved from original.

    At the very least any ap2.5 capable drive will work with ur dvdkey and drive specific firmware.

    Yeah, So if a buy a liteon drive from ebay and replace it will everything be cool? sorry for the confusion, i dont mod 360's of my own i've brought a pre modded one today from Ebay and the dvd laser is weak, and i dont have any of the equipment to change the console key

    If were talking just a laser just replace it. You end up spending a bit more money than u need by getting new drive, retrieving ur key and reflashing new drive.

    U may only need to spend a couple bucks instead of nearly 100 all said and done.

    A 141x is the right laser, and pay no more than a tenner, it might have a glob of solder to remove on it as an anti-static measure. Although some don't have it, check in the description if you don't have a soldering iron, find another!
