XBox 260 Phat Lite-on Dg-16d2s iXtreme 1.5 -> LT 2.0

Hello,

First off I haven't been up to date with the scene for about a year. I just tried playing my backup of Skyrim and it showed up as a DVD. When I ran it it said that an update was needed but that it was not on the disc. I downloaded the latest update off of the website, ran it via USB, but then after 20 minutes it said "Can't process the update". Stunned I checked online and apparently I need to be running the new LT firmware. It's been awhile since I have flashed my Xbox so I have a couple of questions.

1. How do I update my system? Do I need to flash to stock, update, then flash to LT 2.0? Or can I just flash to LT 2.0 right now?

2. Do I still need the probe? I don't know where I put it but I backed up the dummy, identify, inquiry, and key bin files. I saw a video tutorial and the guy had a serial file. Do I need that? If so, can I get it with just the 4 files that I have?

3. Is there anything else that I need to know?

Also, can anyone point me to where the scene is at atm? I know that there are new types of games called XGD3 and that I should probably invest in a Lite-on iHas burner.

1) To update your dashboard, you need to flash it back to stock. When it's stock, update your dashboard and then flash it to LT 2.0

2) If you still have the dummy.bin file, you don't need a probe. The only problem that might occur is that your pc motherboard doesn't recognize the drive very well (You'll get an 0x51 error when trying to erase your drive, that was my problem. I tried another pc and it worked!). In that case try another pc or buy a VIA card.

If you can't find your dummy.bin, you can try to extract it using the tutorial in the official jungleflasher tutorial (page 94) Jungle Flasher - Downloads

Follow this tutorial: Flashing a LiteOn Drive - For Noobs. This worked very well for me!
