The latest Version is Xval 2.0, but it is unreliable as you may be flagged server side.

Xval works purely on the client side. It takes the number you input and checks against a "database" of known failures and returns the match. The second that you connect to live these flags are transmitted to microsoft and stored on their servers (its more complicated than that, but its the same concept). The whole point is that its conceivable that a flag could have been made on the server side directly, and that xval was never updated, as this has been documented and seen by many people (i.e. their xval is clean but they are banned)
XGD3 Quality Benchmarks (per TX and C4):
PI MAX should be 100 or less & PI Average should be 5 or less
PIF MAX should be 4 or less & PIF Average should be 0.20 or less
Nero Discspeed score of 90 or better.
