you should be probing MPXO1
Hey, so I'm a n00b to flashing, and I'm having a bit of trouble with it.
I've got a LiteOn 74850c, and I'm attempting to flash it with the Blaster ck3 w/ Probe. I've been working at it for quite a while, and have been making slow progress, but I've run into a blockade that's pretty frustrating. So far I've gotten a copy of JungleFlasher 0.1.84 Beta, installed the ck3 usb drivers properly, and gotten Jungle Flasher to recognize it in the COM3 slot. So far so good. Since I'm running Windows 7, I managed to get the portio64.sys file signed using dseo and started Windows in test mode to bypass the driver signing checks. JF reports that portio64 is working. Next I plugged the 74850c into one of the master SATA ports of my computer (took me a while to figure out that it needed to be in a master port for JF to see it), powered the drive from XBox power, and managed to get JF to find it. I did the drive half open trick to kick the drive into vendor mode so that I could extract the serial from it, and attempted to use the probe on the R707 hole and hit DVDKey32. So far all I'm getting is "Serial Data is bad". This is where I'm stuck. Sounds like a pretty normal problem from what I've read, but there are a couple of other issues that have me stumped.
First of all, it's red ringing every time I turn the console on. I don't know if that's normal (I'd actually expect for it to be, considering the xbox is in pieces). Secondly, I'm having trouble getting the green LED to light on the probe when I connect it with the R707 hole. If I follow tutorials, they say to turn the XBox on, THEN touch the probe to the hole, but the only way I've been able to get it to respond the way I'd expect is by holding it on the hole THEN turning the console on. If I do it that way the green LED lights up when I touch the hole, and turns off when I remove it. The blue LED stays lit the whole time. Clicking the DVDKey32 button when I do this still returns with a bad serial error.
Have I shorted something, or is the rrod messing the whole process up? Or am I just missing something obvious?

I've got a Blaster ck3 probe, I think that's different than the probe 3. Mine looks like this:

Thanks man, this might be just what I needI'll try it when I get a chance and let you know how it went. On a side note, is the red ringing normal, or should I be worried?
1 2 3 or 4 red rings? and what is the secondary code? you said in your post you are using the xbox to power the drive.. do you have the video cables in?

Woo! You supplied me with exactly what I needed man. Thank you loads. I managed to get my serial code, flash the drive, and install new firmware successfully. As for the red ring, I didn't know that one cause for a red ring is no a/v cables plugged in. That was a very quick fix. My newly flashed xbox is now sitting comfortably in my living room. Thank you so much for your help, you're a god.
anytime..glad I could help and glad to hear everything is doing good for you..
