Request LiteOn Stock Firmware

Postby max » Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:57 pm

Hi,

since it is now possible to dump the firmware for all 4 LiteOn versions (7x ; 8x ; 8x v2 ; 9x) using the board soldering method, does someone have the stock firmware? Or at least for version 7x.

I'd like to restore mine.

Thank You

actually it is now possible using jungleflasher 0.1.69

you take the dummy and add stock firmware to the target firmware area then spoof. hey presto you have stock firmware with your key same as a benq.

I agree though, not seen a stock firmware release yet

That's right. That's why I was hoping for someone who hasn't modded their xbox yet. Or some enthusiast who has a spare LiteOn sitting around and dumps the firmware just for the hack of it (no pun intended ;)).

yeah but that just extracts the dummy not the stock firmware. Think this requires the board cut method and commodore4eva should have included it. Who knows maybe its a present for the start of 2010 :)

All LiteOn drives can be dumped using the board soldering hack. So, when you dump the new LiteOn 9x you get the original firmware. The same method works on all the other LiteOn drives.

Obviously, it is much easier to use the other hacks available for the 7x and 8x LiteOn's, but as you point out, it will only get you the dummy.bin when using that hack.

Therefore, I was hoping that someone dumped their old LiteOn drives using the new (and more difficult) dumping method that requires soldering and therefore could upload the original firmware.

Thank You
