I can read english,and I find your assumption that everyone else is wrong except you and that the reports coming in from around the world of newly flashed xbox's being banned without ever playing a backup are false is quite patronising.
I too can read code, I started as a C64 'cracker' back in the early 80's and am well aware of the never ending battle between the programmers and the hackers, it was what made it fun.
And its still the same old cat and mouse game today I bet even though I don't bother with that side of it now.
M$oft will have people working on FW detection, maybe they have found a way, and if the reports are to be believed then they have.

lol. Stern words by someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. My box got banned and wave 4 never even came withing 100 yards of my 360.

What drive and firmware do you have? Sounds like you have a non hitachi drive with 1.51 or below firmware on it.

It's a lite on, and i'm not sure the version on it.
But even if it's 1.51 or 1.6, shouldn't the activation disc work on it? does anyone have a lite-on that doesn't work with the activation disc?

1.51 will boot anything without an act disk(only for Hitachis), 1.6 needs the disk. Anything lower than 1.5 wont boot wave 3 or 4.

Fairly new to this stuff, need some help. Will 1.61 boot ANY wave past or future with the activation disk or will only 1.6 do this?

And is the activation.iso disk the same for both versions???

1.61->Is only for BenQ and Sammys. It will boot up to wave 4
1.6->Needs Activation disk for wave 4(supports 1-3 without disk)
1.51->For Hitachis only will boot anything
1.51->For other drives, I believe will only boot wave 3 and lower,
1.5->Will only boot wave 1 and 2
1.4->Got no idea
1.3->No idea, needs angle correction

Thanks, but my main concern is future waves. I am under the assumption 1.6 will boot ANY wave past or future (just like Hitachi 1.51) with the disk. I am wondering if 1.61 is the same, and if the activation disk is the same for 1.6 and 1.61. Is this making sense?

well i know 1.6 need a disk for any higher wave so it probability will boot anything, 1.61 doesn't need disk and i believe is like 1.51 for Hitachi

1.61 needs a disk for "hybrid" rips i believe, i just want to know Is the activation disk the same for both 1.6 and 1.61 or are there 2 different versions for each?
