My LiteOn model number is DG 16D2S. I think the model number should be given in the tutorial just to make sure you have the same one.

Re: Flashing a Stock Liteon Drive with iXtreme 1.6 Firmware
hello all
I have used n followed the many tuts from here 2 flash several drives
(the help was appreciated)
HOWEVER , now i am facing off with 2 phillips/Lite-On drives both with f/w 74850c
,,, now I was thinking of making the "probe kit" mentioned here:- http://xbox-experts.com/tutorial/assemb ... pictorial/ ,, and i also saw that post by yonsje » Mon Jun 22, 2009 11:00 pm stating that he made the same probe I think, http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa18 ... /sch-1.jpg
,, But my question is that if u dont make the probe or have the connectivity kit and chose to solder the R707 pads, do you just solder the two pads together(with a wire for the join) or do u need to solder to the bit where the probe goes to ??? and do you also need to un,solder it after your done ???? any help wud b great cause these Lite-On drives r driving me nutz !!
Edit 2/3/10 : yep made the "probe kit" n it worked like a charm!! wud rekomend that any one wit a phillips/lite-on drive wit the orig f/w take the time to make the simple probe n then use jungle flasher (witch comes with guide) and you shud be able to make that lite-on drive bend to your will noprobs
oh and i chose to use a usb cord 4 the power supply thought it was easier than a bat pak

Hi, you wont need the probe if your drives already flashed, just a sata connection >> http://jungleflasher.net/files/JungleFlasher.pdf

I have read that but i liked this guide because i have used his guide for flashing samsung m28 with succes, but i think i will try to give it a go. It mention iextreme LT,i take it that it is a different fw and since i have iexteme 1.6 i can use the dumb key feature?

in the pdf guide it says
check for drive properties in the Drive Properties section) it should
report as PLDS DG-16D2S (unless spoofed)
when it is already flashed ,is`nt it spoofed then?
if spoofed what should it then be called?

Hi
Thanks for the tutorial. I am thinking of buyin gthe ck3 problem but on team executer website it mentiones that you still need to cut traces even when using the probe. But i have not seen any mention of this in the tutorial.
Does that mean that you do not require to cut traces anymore?

Do you have to remove the r707 jumper afterwards?
