Calibration data - necessity or irrelevant?

Postby sdmf195 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 2:51 pm

Hi there , first time poster, my name is Oren.
I seek all you flashing gurus' assistance on how to solve my little predicament involving my Liteon drive!

First , my setup:
Liteon 74850, Via 6421 and portio is installed
OS is Windows 7

The following was my procedure:
My drive was flashed with iXtreme 1.51 using my ck3 pro kit to extract the key,
so my next step(following the JF 1.70 b86 guide) was to extract the dummy.bin only from the current fw version, then use the dummy and spoof it to 1.61.
Next booted to flash drive with my cfw.bin file and dosflash to avoid the whole "Liteon freezing mess".
Flash was successful, but now comes my irritating issue:
I distinctly remember JungleFlasher stating that the calibration was not copied, and I wonder if this is a big issue or not...?
Thr first game I popped in the box was Tekken 6, and no matter what I'd do... Nothing...
The drive seemed to start reading the dvd, then make whirring noises, reach the intro movie.. and hang on that...

My first hunch was that Maybe my version of the ixtreme fw wasn't proper, so I tried DarkSiders, and it worked like a charm!
Since I've also flashed my drive with the LT(using same dummy) and still no Tekken...

I'm thinking I should dig up my previous HD which should definitely hqve the original dump files from the 1.51 key dump, and reflash the drive, hopefully restoring the calibration data and ridding me of this Tekken 6 issue( my fiance is a Tekken freak and so am I... :) ),
but I would really appreciate anyone's help on the matter cause I'm honestly not sure how to approach the matter at hand...

Much thanks.in advance,
Oren

calibration data has been overall agreed that its not important from what ive read, because all the new drive have the exact data data in that block of the firmware
