About flashing

Postby Xilacnog » Mon Sep 14, 2009 9:19 am

Hi,
Is there a way to flash the 360 without opening it?
Mine is already flashed but i have to update it as it doesn't read wave3 games.
Also, is iextreme the only firmware or there are more, like the psp cfw's?
My 360 is an elite that already was flashed when i got it, so i don't know (yet) the drive although i know that when it was flashed they changed the drive for an easier to flash.
Thanks,
Xilacnog

No, to flash it, at a minimum you have to take the console apart, to be able to get to the 360 drive. In all honestly, it only takes about 5 minutes to open the console.

Yes, ixtreme 1.51 for the hitachis, and ixtreme 1.6 for all other drivers, benq, samsung, liteon, etc.

I don't have any problems taking my console apart, quite the opposite as I enjoy the whole process of taking apart, identifying the components and put it all back again. I'm the only one in my house that cleans all the computers, desktops and laptops, and ocasionally the consoles, so far i hadn't an excuse to open the 360

then what's PortI/O?

Port I/O is some drivers you can install, when using Jungle Flasher to flash your drive.

I watched the How to open your Xbox 360 console - Video and i saw that he used a connectivity kit, after further search around the forums, i'm in doubt as to i need the connectivity kit whatever drive the 360 has or just for the lite-on?

It's only for a specific drive, the Lite-On. Figure out what your drive is first before you flash it.

My drive is a Samsung ms28, apparently i'm lacking a sata cord to connect it to my pc and my chipset is a VIA P4M900, i'll try to get a sata cord till the weekend and report if this chipset works or not.
