• *First Flash* Reflashing LiteOn 74850c!

I have all the software and hardware (Except my VIA card, they never shipped it but im trying without). So my first question is, on the JF Tut, it says "Which LiteOn do you have?". It has been flashed, but not on this PC, so do i choose "Possibly flashed this drive before on this pc?" or go down to "Using a PMT or CK Probe 3?CLICK HERE(No-Capacitor / Probe 3)"?
Thanks now and for future questions!

EDIT: Nevermind about the hardware part, looks like im missing some cables. I have the CK3 Lite Pro and the Probe 3 and all the cables that came with it, what more cables do i need for flashing? A SATA - SATA? And whats the big adapter with 4 large pins on the CK3 Lite for?

that is called a molex and it is the actual power supply for the ck3lite. without, no power == no go... if yo have a desktop, there is a chance that you have molex supplies attached to your old non-sata drives. if not, you can get one online for cheap.

and yes, you will obviously need a SATA cable to go from your drive, to the sata chipset

Alright im really hoping best buy or a local computer store will have them, and if i get those i wont need the VIA Card then?
Also, i have a question...
What even plugs into the computer? I thought the SATA would connect to the Xbox Drive to my motherboard or something, but it goes to the Ck3 Lite? I dont even see a SATA port on there
Thanks mate

sorry, i mistyped. no you still need a VIA. SATA connects drive to VIA NOT ck3lite. and bestbuy will have the sata cable, but you will still need the VIA or x360usb

I thought some motherboards were compatable though? Lets say i connect the Xbox drive straight to the Mobo using a SATA cable, wont that work?

some are. but fewer and fewer. i mean its worth a try, but seriously a VIA is like $12. you might spend hours and hours trying to get your onboard to work. i dont know about you, but my bill rate at work is like 20 times that... i put a high value on my time i guess, but hey if you want to do it knock yourself out.

All i got is football right now my friend, so i have some time to tinker. And my Mobo is a good little guy, Gigabyte is my favorite brand so i have some faith!
Will i have to install any special drivers you think?

Drive properties will show up for your Lite-on:

Obviously, if you're on the latest dash, it will say 02510c instead of 74850c.

Like I said before, go to each port and see if drive properties show up. If they don't, then your chipset is not compatible.

Also, make sure you plugging you drive into your mobo's first SATA port and power your drive before you turn your PC on.

like i said originally, you most likely dont have a compatible chipset... just buy a via...
