pot tweak is easy aslong as you have a digital multimeter ...also some multi purpose lithium grease for the rails and motor spindle..

When I was given an 360 for $70 because the drive wouldnt read originals all the time I had to do a pot tweak to get it going ..

if you search around theres plenty how to do's about ... my drive works fine now but I do have a brand new laser as well for when it finally dies.

I read somewhere that every time you flash your drive the laser spikes and this is why doing a flash so many times will kill your laser .. so unplug the laser ribbon from the drive when flashing then put it back to help it last longer..

+1 to that, iv ended up with 2 xboxes that ppl thought were dead for pennies and pot tweaked to get them going again. it is only dangerous if you try to "guesstimate" how far to tweak.
