same thing is happening to me, just got a 50 pack of verbs from amazon. same type of discs i had, but model is different.

lol maybe verbatim started making cheap discs :P, kinda looks that way to be honest, but I have started using the Xk3y and have had WONDERFUL results with it, being the entrepreneur i am I even sold my iHas 424 (crossflashed back to 624).....for a profit :P. i have 2 stacks of verbs and a stack of memorex's i need to find someone local to buy now Not sure what ill do with my stack of already burned ones

I have three Modern Warfare 3 coasters using the old settings, but after the final settings change, it passed KPRobe on the first burn, well I got one read of 11 PIF on MW3, but its on the layer break so I'm hoping its fine. Kind of odd how burning at 4x is better than at 2.4x, but it worked for me. Maybe for you as well. I forgot to save my new MW3 KPRobe, but I can post the pics when this burn is done and I can run the disc in KPRobe again.

WOW! I've tried SOOOOOOO many different settings. I've tried with FOUR different computers! I've gone through ~25 disks! FINALLY I got EXCELLENT results with THESE settings!!! Thank you SO much!!!

Dude, thank you so much it worked great. I wish I had read this before wasting 5 other discs.

I will probably cop alot of crap but here goes.

I could have two machines 100% indentical with os , ram , etc and 100% identical drives with lt max and have a spindle of verbatims.

Burn them exactly the same with no differences what so ever and still get different kprobe results ...

I have actually tried this ...

It is dependent on the actual discs even from the same spindle. My theory is that these verbatims are mass produced and the machines used to make them may need adjusting every so often or maybe the dye used wasn't as refined etc, this would be within verbatims guidelines/specs. So some in the spindle maybe at the bottom or middle may give better kprobe results.

I believe that kprobe is not needed aslong as the game installs 100% and also having a xbox360 console that has a dvd drive thats in good condition.

I had to pot tweak the laser and regrease the drive for my console to get games working and installing but about 12 months later the constant dirty disc error or unable to authorise so I replaced the laser with new one and now everythings 100% in working order.

I say that kprobe means nothing aslong as the game installs 100% because even originals can be dirty or scratched which if this was detected by M$ then there would be alot of banned people.

Aslong as you burn with ihas on verbatims or whatever aslong as it's a 100& burn and your xbox drive is in good working order then you will be fine playing on xbox live.

If you have 2.4x verbatims then burn them at 2.4x

if you have the 4x-8x then burn them at 4x ... I found out the hard way that if you try and burn the 4x media at 2.4x that it would crap out at layer break.

I burn with these settings using the 4x verbatims :

Desktops screen saver turned off

i/o buffer in image burn set to 500 megs

OPC ON

Smart burn on

I click burn and walk away and dont go near pc till done .. also I make sure avg or whatever is not going to kick in and do an update or download.
