Have you tried using dos flash to get the bin and spoof it to the new ixtreme in jungle flasher take the spoofed bin and write in it dos flash?
Hey guys,
So I've been trying to reflash my Hitachi 79fl to the new iXtreme 1.51 to play Batman. But I've been having some difficulties.
My drive shows up in Device manager as an Unknown Device.
Gets detected in windows (From My Computer I can eject it.) but doesn't get detected in JungleFlasher, under the Hitachi tab, there was an option for (F<-Drive letter at the time. But showed up as (F:000000000) or however many zero's there was. Not to mention the many times my computer froze because of JF.
Tried FMTB but I get an "cannot read drive" and get a .bin thats incredibly small when trying to dump.
79Unlock is now acting up and is coming up with an error in the command prompt. (it used to say done!).
I have
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1
Vista Home Premium 32bit
Hitachi 0079fl GDR 3120L
Intel ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO SATA RAID Controller
PortIO32 is installed according to Device Manager
HL-blahblah gets detected by BIOS at startup though..don't know if thats any help.
I've been trying forever, any help is appreciated.
Any other info you need to know just ask. =]

Thanks for the reply.
No, I have not tried that.
I haven't had a chance to look into Dosflash, how would I go about doing that? or is Dosflash as idiot-proof as JungleFlasher?
EDIT: I feel like my problem is that it's not being automatically installed when plugged into my computer which is why its an Unknown Device (the Hitachi drive I mean) so how would I get it to install correctly?
As far as I know dosflash doesn't support hitachi flashing.
A few things you can try are,
Use the audio unlock cd.
Change your comms setting in the bios to IDE.
Remove other cd/dvd drives.
Disable any virtual drive, daemon tools etc.
Also if you do get the drive recognised, remember you have to flash it back to stock first.
Is this the definition of irony?
