    ABGX tutorial

    Hi,

I thought i would put an ABGX tutorial together for us all, to show the settings that need to be applied to create a perfect backup thats safe to use online.

So lets get started, go ahead and open ABGX and hit the options tab, you will be presented with a screen like this, make sure you tick all the highlighted boxes shown below.

ABGX 1 by SlickiX, on Flickr

Ok now lets move over to the autofix tab and once again make sure your settings match all the highlighted settings below

ABGX 2 by SlickiX, on Flickr

Now open the Rebuilding tab and make sure Default Method is ticked

ABGX 3 by SlickiX, on Flickr

Now lets open the Misc tab, make sure the red highlighted areas match up again, note the blue/green highlighted areas are optional depending on your origin

ABGX 4 by SlickiX, on Flickr

Now save these settings as default

ABGX 5 by SlickiX, on Flickr

Now lets run a backup through and see what happens, ok load up the settings you have just saved (You will need to load the settings each time you open ABGX)

Now search for the backup you want to check and hit launch

wild one by SlickiX, on Flickr

You will notice that this backup was SSv1 but as been auto fixed to SSv2 and the rest of the stealth as been applied, but this backup is not complete yet, notice (cannot check splitvid due to invalid or uncertain PFI/Video) this is because we need to run the backup through again

Now go ahead and hit launch again

wild two by SlickiX, on Flickr

Now you see we have a perfect backup, fully stealthed with no errors other then the yellow video partition error which is normal with waves 5 and 6 video partition, theres nothing you can do about this until ABGX gets updated, the unofficial mod is not recommended

    Manual Patch Settings

If you notice in your ABGX log that your backups still SSv1 after you have applied the stealth files, then you will need to manual patch this.

wild three by SlickiX, on Flickr

Click on the Options tab and untick verify if stealth passes

ABGX 6 by SlickiX, on Flickr

Ok click Manually Patch or Extract Files tab and select the highlighted settings below, now also save these settings and call them manual patch, so you can load them each time you need to manual patch, now you need to load the SS/DMI files indicated by the green arrows, which you downloaded from ABGX SSv2 Files see below

ABGX pic by SlickiX, on Flickr

ABGX 7 by SlickiX, on Flickr

ABGX 5 by SlickiX, on Flickr

Once you have the files loaded up hit launch

wild four by SlickiX, on Flickr

You will see the DMI/SS files been manually patched into the ISO, but were not finished there you now need to run the backup through one last time with the default settings we made earlier to achieve 100% perfection

wild five by SlickiX, on Flickr

Congratulations, you have just fully stealthed your backup, your now safe to play online,

    Enjoy,

    Slick

So let me rephrase my question(s).
-Are these files the same for any image so I could just have a good copy of them and use the same in any game?
-Can I somehow find these files in my iso image, extract them, patch them and patch my image with them?
-Do I have to find new good copies of them? Can I extract these copies from an original disk?
-Is it possible that I find them online and they still match?

    Re: ABGX tutorial

1.) The SS & DMI files are unique to each game. If you're backup is SSV1, you need to get these files to patch it to SSV2.

2.) If you're ripping your games a Kreon drive, your .iso will be SSV1 and if you're using 0800 firmware, your backups will be SSV2. So you will need to download the files to patch Kreon rips.

3 & 4.) Go to the ABGX verified section to find the SS and DMI files: http://abgx360.net/verified.php. Type in the name of your backup, make sure it's the same region your backup is (PAL, NTSC, or Region Free), go all the way to the right of "Wave" and click the blue number. Download the SS CRC and DMI CRC (Make sure it's SS Version 2). Follow this post to manually patch your .iso.

    Re: ABGX tutorial

    I got it now.

I would also like to ask:
From what I've read online, SSv2 is considered safer but nobody knows if thats true. Also I read someone's post saying that the angles have never been changed so the SSv1 is the same as SSv2 as soon as microsoft doesn't change the angles in the future.

But lets assume the opposite, that SSv1 is bad and detectable.
Are SSv1 games safe for someone that plays them offline? Or are they logged and going to flag you as soon as you connect to XBL?

I am asking because I have tried some SSv1 copies with LT and haven't gone online since. One of them also had the 359 issue. Am I marked in my console? Am I going to be flagged if I connect? If so, is there anything I could do to somehow clear this info before getting online?

    Thanks again.
