Question Well known question: Truncated games and xbox live

    Hi,

First of all, let me say that i find your web site and community amazing.

Now to my question. I've bought a new Xbox a month ago. It was immediatly flashed to LT+ 3.0 firmware.

But i made a mistake (maybe still correctable). I burned XGD3 games as truncated. Still, i haven't tried to install them to the Xbox hard drive. That said, i wanted to say that my friend tried installing a truncated game to hard drive and after 2 minutes he got authorization problem (kicked out of the game).

Instead of installing them to the hard drive i run them directly from the dvd. SO far, i have played Max Payne 3, Dirt 3 Complete Edition (xgd3), Sleeping Dogs, PES 13 and running them this way i didn't get any errors or authorization issues.

Does this mean that my console isn't flagged for a ban? Is it safe to play XGD3 truncated games offline and use iHAS burned games for online playing and installing to hard drive?

There is good reason asking this. I want to buy a iHAS burner so i don't have problems in the future. But I don't wan't to give 50$ (in my country price) for a additional burner if my Xbox is already flagged for a ban. I have checked it with Xval 2.0 and result is "Secdata clean".

    Kind regards

If you are truncating games you are losing the last 300mb or so on the end of a XGD3 game so put simply you are not gonna have a full game without a iHas

I am aware that truncated disc aren't safe to play online. And i haven't played any truncated game on this xbox online. Only offline. And as I said, i haven't recieved any errors. And I have completed these games (full content).

My question is, could my xbox get flagged for a ban only for playing truncated games offline and original games only online?

    Kind regards

Yes flags are stored or offline and transferred once you go online

If this is true my console should be flagged for a ban? I repeat that i played only offline and didn't get any errors as i played them directly from dvd drive and haven't tried to install them on hard drive.

Is it possible to delete this data somewhere before i connect the console to xbox live?

    Kind regards

I'm not still too sure but I bought my 424 ihas for only 20 or so dollars off newegg I believe. Now this WAS a long time ago literally at the time when it was first suggested to buy an ihas.but ebay may have some b models a few dollars cheaper than $50.I also believe there's an ihas alternative too but I'm not sure what became of that(I saw this some months back).

Not necessarily flagged for a ban but flagged security fail maybe, happens with orig's also. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Just don't truncate your discs anymore.
