    Liteon iHAS Drive

Hey. I'm new to the whole 360 modding scene. I recently just finished by BenQ setup and everything has been dandy since. Now I've found out that I need a Liteon ihas drive which I just ordered. Couple questions:

    1. I only have a laptop with USB. I'm assuming my 360usb and ck3i will work fine to power this drive and get it flashed?

    2. After I have done #1 am I then able to use the drive as a burner with imgburn while having it connected with the 360usb and ck3i?

    3. Will this new drive also be my new Xbox drive (replacing the BenQ) as well or am I only using it as a burner?

    Thanks.

Its just a burner, your benq will still be in the xbox. I'm not positive that you can use the 360USB the way you're thinking, I suspect you'll want to get an external enclosure regardless.

Just a burner. The power cable for the ck3i won't fit the iHas because ye iHas is a DVD burner. It has a sata adapter for power and one for data. You'll need an external enclosure or if you have a PC power supply that you can use one of the sata cables from it then you can power the drive that way. The X360USB Pro is fine to use for the data.

Recommended KProbe2 Summary: (If they are higher than these then it's your choice to risk a potential ban)

PI MAX = 100 or less, PI Average = 5 or less
PIF MAX = 4 or less, PIF Average = 0.20 or less

I don't have a PC power supply. Can't even the last time I used a desktop lol. Anything I did have around the house certainly wouldn't have SATA power. Just looked around online for External enclosure but they all seem to be for hard drives. I've seen a few USB to SATA adapters. Some just USB and SATA, some USB, SATA, and IDE. This is one I found and I THINK this will do the job but once again pretty noob and wanna make sure before I order and spend the cashish. Whatcha think?

    Newegg.com - SABRENT EC-ST5B Aluminum 5.25" Black USB 2.0 CD/DVD Enclosure

something like that looks like what u want.

With that dongle you still won't have power.

Are you sure that dongle (Buy the Vantec USB to SATA/IDE Adapter at TigerDirect.ca) won't power the drive. In the description for it, it says:

"The included external power adapter will allow you to power your drives outside your system giving you the ability to quickly add or swap between drives without opening your case"

Yeah I checked newegg.ca though and the same one you posted was 39.99. Newegg.com won't ship to Canada so I'm SOL in the gettin it setup for cheaper category.
